District 3: You Spoke and I Listened

During the past nine weeks, I have walked your neighborhoods and personally visited 1400 of your homes. You spoke and I listened.

During the past nine weeks, I have walked your neighborhoods and personally visited over 1400 of your homes.  You spoke and I listened. Your message to me was loud and clear. You said you are sick and tired of government meddling in your personal lives and trampling on your liberties.

You said you are sick and tired of government wasting more of your hard earned money and debt spiraling out of control. You told me you fear our “City-Lite” will become just another “City-Big” with wasteful spending and disregard for your liberties.

You told me you do not want our new city to become another intrusive and burdensome part of your daily lives. You said you are tired of career politicians who think they know what’s best for you. They make backroom deals and refuse to listen to you and your interests.

You told me that many of these “know-it-aIl” elitists have been miserable failures at solving our nation’s toughest problems. You said that you are starving for principled leaders who still believe in and practice limited government as established by our Founding Fathers.

The more I listened, the more I learned. I learned that you want a leader who will stand up for you and your interests and not pander to special group agendas. I learned that you thirst for leaders who are grounded in common sense experiences, and who make decision based on good solid principles and values.

I have lived a modest life. Frugality is a value I live everyday. I practiced it as president of my HOA, and practice it every day in my personal and business life. As a result I am confident I will be a good steward with your money and with your liberties. I am one of you. I am not a career politician. I am a regular guy with a regular job right here in Peachtree Corners.

George Washington set the example for our nation’s leaders. He chose to be a humble servant that would do his duty and then go home. I too just want to be your humble servant, do my duty and then go home.

I have not accepted campaign contributions from any special interest groups or individuals.  I will only owe the trust and faith of my constituents. My skill is listening and caring for my constituents.  When they suffer, I suffer. When they prosper, I prosper.

I am the one to deliver your message of limited, transparent and non-intrusive government to our new mayor and council.  I believe the genius is not in the council but rather in the collective voice of the people. It’s not my Peachtree Corners, it’s our Peachtree Corners.

My name is David Proud, candidate for Peachtree Corners City Council Post 3, and I humbly ask for your continued support and vote on April 3rd, 2012.  Visit my website for more information on me and my background at www.davidproud.com
