Health & Fitness

Watch Them Shine!

The Metro Atlanta YMCA Association was very proud to be a partner to the Atlanta Kids Triathlon this past August. The event was held at the Gwinnett Aquatics Center which is located in Norcross. Our YMCA Association has 18 membership branches and those branches trained over 500 kids to participate in the triathlon this year. The Robert Fowler Y offered a free 10 week training program that was open to any triathlon registrant. We realize that it is our responsibility to offer the resources that will start your family on the journey to health and wellbeing.

Organizing the training program to help kids prepare for the triathlon helped our staff to recognize an even greater opportunity to serve our community. We are creating a Youth & Teens Cross Training Program. This program is designed for beginner to athletes and anything in between. Our goal is to use a wide range of training tactics and exercises to take participants fitness to the next level. This program will focus on improving speed, agility, flexibility, coordination, balance, muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance.

Would you like to know about this program, please join us for a focus group, Sunday - September 15 @ 1:30 pm, held at the Robert D. Fowler YMCA. This focus group is OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY!
