New Peachtree Corners Restaurant A Nice Find

Baba's Gyro & Kabob opened just three months ago but is already a hit with the lunch bunch.

I love finding new restaurants and a sure-fire way to find out if it's a good place to eat -- other than a recommendation from a friend -- is if it's packed at lunch time.

It seems like the office lunch crowd is always able to sniff out the best spots, and is no exception.

Located on S.R. 141 and Peachtree Corners Circle in the Village at Peachtree Corners shopping center, the new restaurant joins a couple of other popular dining spots, and . The addition of Baba's makes this little shopping center a hot spot for the lunch and dinner crowd.

Baba's serves up authentic Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, the wait staff is friendly and helpful if you're not sure what to order or would just like a recommendation.

The restaurant is owned by Freddie Izadi, the former owner of Aldo's in Cumming and Merlot in Johns Creek. Along with the Peachtree Corners location which opened in July, Izadi also has another Baba's in Cumming.

The restaurant has a casual atmosphere and seats about 40+ inside plus a bar that seats five. There's also covered seating outside. The day I was there, nearly every table was full and a number of the diners had chosen to eat outside to take in the nice fall weather.

Baba's is open for lunch and dinner, the menu is extensive. For me the difficult part was trying to make a selection, everything looked good. I settled on the Grilled Chicken with Humas Wrap combo which came with Greek potatoes and a drink for $9.69.

Dinner looked mouthwatering too, with Persian, Greek and Italian entrees on the menu. And the desserts looked divine - Cannoli, Baklava, Tiramisu, Creme Brulee were just a few of the homemade desserts listed. I've made a note to myself to return for dinner one evening.

Along with non-alcoholic beverages, Baba's also serves draft and bottled beer.

There is a kid's menu too (for 10 and under) with six choices including a chicken finger basket with fries, pepperoni pizza and spaghetti with marinara sauce, all priced at $5.99.

You can find the full menu on Baba's website. The restaurant also offers take out, delivery and catering and is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.
