Child Nearly Drowns in Peachtree Corners Pool Wednesday

The Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services responded to a call at a location on Jones Bridge Circle.

At 1:05 p.m. Wednesday Gwinnett firefighters responded to a 911 call of a child found submerged in a pool in Peachtree Corners on the 4500 block of Jones Bridge Circle.

The child, approximately 10 years old, was found in the water after being submerged for approximately 10 seconds, said Lieutenant Colin Rhoden, spokesman for the Gwinnett Fire and Rescue Services.

"Three lifeguards assisted the child out of the pool and immediately began CPR," said Rhoden. "The child was responsive to the life saving measures from the lifeguards."Β

The child was quickly transported to Scottish Rite Hospital where they are caring for the child. No further information is available according to the fire department spokesman.
