Decorating for the Holiday Season

Local retailers offer expertise and helpful ideas for holiday home decor.

Need help or just some innovative ideas on decorating for the upcoming holidays.

Then Peachtree Corners and Berkeley Lake residents are in luck. We found several local retailers that are offering both helpful advice and some great ideas for getting your home ready for the holidays.

, located at has free classes on how to entertain and decorate for the holidays. The classes are scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 27 and Dec. 4. Both classes are scheduled for 10 a.m.

The classes, which are scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. is followed by a one hour private in-store shopping opportunity for those who have attended. Participants receive a 10 percent discount card to use that day.

Professional designers will be on hand to offer advice. Get help with table and mantle scapes, entry hall decorations, table settings to designing and decorating a room or an entire house.

We found some lovely holiday decorations both indoor and outdoor and dinnerware all at very affordable pricing at the new store. Lot's of glittery accessories for the table. We loved the string of lighted silver bulbs that would work great over a mantle or over a doorway. This is one of those shops that's great to browse. Even when you've no intention in buying anythings, chances are you'll find something you can't do without.

Another of our favorite shops is at The Forum. This locally-owned shop always gears up for the holidays and this year is no exception. The store is packed with Christmas tree ornaments and hostess gifts to tree toppers.

And it's also got the very popular "Elf on the Shelf" book that has taken the area by storm. If you haven't heard about this delightful book that keeps children brimming with excitement on the days leading up to Christmas, then stop in and ask Kim Darden, the store's manager or one of her helpful assistants for more details. The store also offers free gift wrap for your holiday purchases.

We realize we've only skimmed the surface when it comes to top spots for holiday decorating. If you've got a store to recommend, please let Patch - and all of your neighbors know. You know how we all love to shop.

evidently just another low-information group. what they need to be focusing on is this: Did youRead More know that in all of the shootings, that the shooters were on one or more of these drugs? This touches one of the problems with a Fri pick up schedule. Folks who take weekend trips areRead More caught with either leaving the cans out or missing out by not putting their trash out. Since homeowners have zero choices under our government mandated trash plan to pay in advance for service without the ability to change carriers with different pick up dates, leaving the cans out is the results. IF the new city can change our pickup day to Mon or Tue this problem would be stopped or reduced

This is one of those "government mandated" services that actually are worth while. ImagineRead More 5 different garbage collectors going around PC every week stopping at every 5th home. But perhaps the city will attempt to get earlier in the week service for us. My household has good relations with our neighbors and they are more than happy to do the chore for us, as we they.

It's my understanding that a Monday or Tuesday pickup day is one of the stipulations in the RFP theRead More city sent out. You can review the RFP on the city's website.
