Five Things to Know

What's going on in Peachtree Corners and Berkeley Lake this week.

1. Just in time for the holidays, Peachtree Corners resident Lisa Long has re-opened her gift shop, Silver Lining Gifts, at The Forum (located across from Belk's). I stopped in last week, and there's a store full of gifts for everyone. Click on the link above for location, phone and store hours.

2. Love fine art? Now through Nov. 19, in Peachtree Corners is featuring a selected exhibition featuring the works of Italy's Pietro Piccoli. The artist uses color to depict warm landscapes, sunsets and scenes of the sea. I love visiting the gallary and the pieces are for sale, but the gallery is open to browsers to enjoy too.

3. Head to the polls tomorrow to cast your vote. Peachtree Corners and Berkeley Lake voters will decide on whether to extend 1-cent sales tax extension for education, E-SPLOST which will pay for building upgrades including AC for gyms and kitchens, technology upgrades for teachers, classroom additions and several new schools for the Gwinnett County Public School system.

5. And now to the weather -- it's going to be picture perfect for the first part of the week, says the weatherman. So there's no excuse not to vote tomorrow. Predictions call for high in the 70s and lows in the 40s then a 40 percent chance of rain on Thursday and clear again through Saturday.
