Unique Shop, Adams Apples, Opens in Peachtree Corners

There's a new one--of-a-kind shop that has just opened up in Peachtree Corners - Adams Apples - and it's filled with handmade chocolate, fresh florals, balloons and other party items.

The new shop, which opened just last week, is located in the same shopping center with Hi Life Restaurant on Holcomb Bridge Road.

As the name suggests, you'll find gourmet apples, of all sorts, some dipped in chocolate, carmel and other delightful flavors. And lots of delicious handmade chocolates, almost too many to list.

Adams Apples is Dax Dossmann's creation. He's been in the floral business for 25 years and over the years expanded to creating gourmet apples and speciality balloon arrangements that can be designed for parties, weddings, baby showers and other events.

Dossmann, who is also a certified balloon artist, decided to relocate his shop from the Avondale Estates area which he opened in 2011, and Peachtree Corners is the lucky recipient.

"I had been looking in the Alpharetta area in April," said Dossmann, "and on my way back home I drove by this location and liked it immediately." A week later he signed a lease.

"We're excited to be here," said Dossmann who said he was surprised that a number of local residents have already found his shop.

But it shouldn't be a surprise when Peachtree Corners residents find his unique shop. Chocolate lovers will find such handmade treats as beer truffles which are made with chocolate stout and white chocolate, dark chocolate cashew drumsticks, tiger butter which has the texture of fudge but melts like butter in your mouth. It's made of semi-sweet chocolate and peanut butter.

"It's always been a passion of mine," said Dossmann who said his great grandmother and grandmother were his inspirations in creating his gourmet chocolate treats.

And thankfully, Peachtree Corners now has a floral shop once again. The last one closed a few years ago and residents have had to travel to neighboring towns for floral arrangements.
