Has Creflo Dollar Damaged World Changers Reputation?

Have the allegations of domestic abuse against his daughter made you think differently of the church? The mega church has a satellite location in Peachtree Corners.

Earlier this month, for allegedly assaulting his 15-year-old daughter.

She told police that the two got into an argument one evening, and he allegedly abused her by choking her, slamming her face to the floor and hitting her with his shoe.

He was charged with simple battery, family violence and cruelty to children, but was released on bond some hours later. The was released recently to reveal what his daughter initally told authorities.

Dollar, who has a megachurch , gave a after the arrest, to which his congregation of nearly 30,000 people stood and cheered for him.

He assured the crowd that "all is well in the Dollar household" and that everyone will be appalled "when the facts come out."

How do you think the incident has affected the World Changers name and its followers? Does the recent release of the 911 call change your opinion on the matter?

Tell us in the comments below.

If you're a member of the World Changers satellites, how has the situation affected you? Have you observed a change in the church's followers?

Just got a Tweet from Kim Wright who does not feel the mega church has been damaged by the recent arrest of its pastor Creflo Dollar. What do you think?

I think the church member going to do fine. No, damage by the arrest . The arrest should never happen because of angry. May God bless each one of the dollar family.

I believe that a great number of people who criticize Pastor Dollar, the ministry, and the church have not attended a service, and form opinions on sound bites. I believe in God, and, his son Jesus... I am a Christian. I believe that prosperity is not solely based on monetary gain, but in health, love, relationships, friendships, and family, and those are some of the many things Pastor Dollar preached about. I believe in a God who loves me, sent His best (his son) to save me from death hell and the grave, and is merciful. Would God do all of that to allow me to suffer in poverty... WAKE UP!!!! Praise God. Be thankful that he loves us enough to supply our needs. That's true prosperity. I love Pastor Dollar, I have learned more and grown more in my relationship with God in these last 8yrs under pastors ministry than any other time in my life... Hate is ungodly, judgement is ungodly, and jealousy is ungodly, if this pertains to you, repent, praise God, read the word and preach the good news. Christopher D Gonzalez. (8 year member) ( World Changers Church New York)

Im a christian and i listen to Pastor Dallar every day and i learn more from him than any pastor but being a mother of two and a teenager they can make you so upset and remember God said not to look at men but the word, judge not judgement is left to God.

I fell that anybody who really has a relationship with God really knows who is behind this mess nobody but the devil. I f anything the church should come together even more and use the power and authority that God has given us and over turn this devil. I am with you all the teaching and revelation God has given to this man it is time for world changers ministries to get up and come together as one and beat down that devil. Don't worry about the backbiters either the going to stay or get ran out.

Yeah....that has to be it. It's the devil's fault. : /

while I'm not in agreement with his teachings, I think the question needs to be asked, was this alledged incident a one time occurance or is it something that has happened before. If no previous incidents, then let's cut him some slack on this issue. No one is wthout sin.
Elizabeth Dickinson June 27, 2012 at 05:06 PM
tykem, what do you REALLY know about his teachings? how can you not believe? as far as him correcting his child it says in the bible spare the rod and spoil the child. that is what is happening to so many families where the children rule. then end up in jail, or hating their parents for not correcting them. a child needs limits...they don't know what the world is about yet only what they want
ARLENE MCDANIEL June 27, 2012 at 05:10 PM
A McDaniel (blessed sole shoes) Why should there be a change in the church followers? GOD IS GOD, this is whom we should be following!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lois Gray June 27, 2012 at 11:28 PM
so he fd up, so what!
tykem June 27, 2012 at 11:49 PM
In response to Ms Dickerson's comment: Please look up the word Alleged in the dictionary. I'm quite familiar with Dr. Dollars teachings. I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and I follow Him, but some of the things Dr Dollar teaches are not doctrinally sound; Namely the over emphasis on prosperity. Please read Timothy 6: 3 thru 10.

A famous tennis star once declared “Image is everything.” This is the problem with big time ministers of television and/or mega churches. They must create, enhance and sustain an image in order to keep their popularity and prosperity ongoing. They must have their followers believe they are men of God, fulfilling an anointed calling and work for the Lord. Thus should be looked up to, followed and served by the masses. Most only see these ministers from a distance, from a church pew or television screen, which makes it easy to create an image and sustain it. When Jesus looked upon a fig tree from a distance it looked lush and full and no doubt the image in his mind was a tree filled with figs. But upon close inspection he discovered the tree to be fruitless. Creflo Dollar's family, wife and children, have to live with the real Creflo Dollar and not with his image. The difference usually comes to our attention when the hidden things of these ministers, done in private intimate moments out of eyesight of the masses, come to light. It will always conflict with the image. It is interesting that his first Sunday back at church immediately began with denial, damage control and repairing the image. When Jesus was falsely accused he opened not his mouth to defend himself. It seems Creflo Dollar chose not to follow Christ’s example in this situation. But then Christ was never about image nor are his true ministers.

DO NOT LOOK DOWN ON OR JUDGE PASTOR DOLLAR IN THIS SITUATION AT ALL !!! HE DID WHAT WAS NECESSARY TO KEEP CONTROLL & AUTHORITY IN HIS HOME AS A PARENT & AS A MAN !! I AM A SINGLE PARENT OF 3 AND I UNDERSTAND HIS FRUSTRATION WITH HIS DAUGHTER... MY OWN 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER TRIES MY PATIENCE & IS VERY UNRULY & DISRESPECTFUL AND VERY DEFIANT ... I BELIEVE THE RESPECT IS LOST WHEN WE AS PARENTS HAVE A MINDSET OF NOT WANTING TO BE "TOO HARSH" ON OUR TEENAGERS AND OFTEN FEEL THAT WE WANT TO BE THE "COOL PARENT" !! THE TEENAGERS OF TODAY ARE NOT LIKE THE TEENS BACK IN THE 80'S OR EARLY 90'S WHEN THEY ACTUALLY HAD RESPECT FOR THEIR PARENTS ... THE TEENS OF TODAY HAVE NO FEAR OF THEIR PARENTS, THE POLICE OR EVEN GOD !!! I THINK SOME LAWS ARE TOO LENIENT ON UNRULY TEENS AND PARENTS HAVE TO TAKE BACK THEIR AUTHORITY IN THEIR HOMES .... I'M NOT SAYING "ABUSE" BUT EACH TEENAGER HAS TO BE DELT WITH ACCORDING TO THEIR LEVEL OF DISRESPECT & DISHONOR ... I AM SO TIRED OF THE PARENTS BEING BLAMED FOR EVERYTHING WRONG WITH THE YOUTH OF TODAY .... DISCIPLINE STARTS AT HOME !!! CHILDREN ARE TO OBEY THEIR PARENTS, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND ... AS A PARENT, I WILL NOT FEAR OR BOW DOWN, OR GIVE MY AUTHORITY TO A TEENAGER !!!!! KEEP YOUR HEAD UP PASTOR DOLLAR .... I AGRE WITH U ... OUR CHILDREN CANNOT TAKE OVER OUR HOUSE AND TAKE OUR AUTHORITY AS THE PARENTS....

Two thoughts come to mind when reading this story and the comments... 1- if the girl felt threatened enough to call 911, there is probably a pretty big problem in that house...this isnt like a normal teenager who might yell 'I hate you!' at her parents as she slams her bedroom door. Calling the cops is major. 2- maybe Creflo needs to spend a little less time teaching prosperity theology, and a little more time teaching grammar.

Juanita I love pastor creflo dollar he is a true man of god. it's a sin to judge if you don't have anything goog to say you shouln't say it at all. creflo teach from the bible. not outside the bible. And if you know the word the bible speaks about prosperity, wealth and blessings and whatevers in the bible god wants his peoples to have them. in the bible poverty is a sin.God is a god of more then enough he don.t want his peoples in poverty. You suppose to want what god want.Everything creflo teach is in that bible.i.m a christian i know the word and read it in the bible for myself. No one knows what went on in creflo dollar home but him and his family. no one else were there so peoples need to stop putting mouth and nose where it don.t belong and mind their own business. It.s a scripture in the bible that says stop meddling in other peoples affairs. that scripture means mind your own business and stay out of other peoples business.let god work this out for creflo dollar and his family.
