'Hunger Games' Takes 5 People's Choice Awards

The fan-voted 39th Annual People's Choice Awards was held Wednesday night at the Nokia Theatre L.A.

The movie "The Hunger Games" was the victor at the 39th Annual People's Choice Awards capturing five trophies.

The movie won in the categories of "favorite movie," "action movie" and "movie franchise." Jennifer Lawrence won in the category "favorite face of heroism" and "favorite movie actress."

Robert Downey Jr. won the "favorite movie actor" category and also "favorite movie superhero" for his role in "Iron Man." Meryl Streep captured the "favorite movie icon" category.

In the category of comedic movie actors, Adam Sandler was named "favorite comedic movie actor and Jennifer Aniston, "favorite comedic movie actress."

In television catogories, "The Big Bang Theory" was named "favorite network TV comedy and "Grey's Anatomy" for "favorite network TV Drama."

Katy Perry won in several categories, "favorite female artist," "favorite pop artist and "favorite music video for "Part of Me."

Taylor Swift captured the award for "favorite country artist."
