Lightning, Hail, Gusty Winds Possible Sunday Night

The National Weather Service advises Peachtree Corners and surrounding areas that there is a chance if strong storms and warns of possible flash floods.

April showers may bring May flowers, but the unpredictible spring weather can also bring strong thunderstorms, wind, hall and threat of flash flooding.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of north and central Georgia for Sunday night. Monday the NWS says to expect more 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain on Monday.

DAY ONE...SUNDAY NIGHT... SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED FOR MUCH OF NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA TONIGHT. WITH DECENT INSTABILITY AND MARGINAL SHEAR...THERE IS A CHANCE FOR STRONG STORMS. THE MAIN THREATS WILL BE OCCASIONAL TO FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND HEAVY RAIN. HAIL AND GUSTY WINDS WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 0.5 TO 1.5 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED. FLASH FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTH GEORGIA THROUGH 8 PM TONIGHT.

DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY... THE CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MONDAY. STORM TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1.5 TO 2.5 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS NORTH GEORGIA WITH 0.5 TO 1.5 INCHES ACROSS CENTRAL GEORGIA. THE LOWER AMOUNTS SHOULD EXTEND SOUTH.
