Parade Kicks Off Duluth Fall Festival

Festival continues Sunday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Enjoy arts, crafts booths, food, entertainment.

It was as State Rep. Brooks Coleman, the Duluth Fall Festival Parade announcer called: “Our best and most exciting parade.”

The Saturday (Sept. 24) parade in downtown Duluth and along Buford Highway had dignitaries, marching bands, schools, military, beauty queens, scarecrows, scouts, sports teams, animals, and even “Elvis” in the form of Mark Pitt, who performed later at the festival.

The parade concluded with the Wells Fargo stagecoach drawn by six horses riding through town with Santa as a passenger waving to crowds. The 80-unit parade kicked off the two-day festival on the Duluth Town Green and adjacent city streets.
