Presidents' Day - today it means a day off for many - and a day to shop. There are no parades in Peachtree Corners to honor the day but there are plenty of sales.

- Federal, State and County offices
- Most banks

An now a little history please:
Presidents' Day was originally established in 1885 to honor the first president of the United States, George Washington who was born on Feb. 22, 1732. Later the holiday became popularly known as Presidents’ Day after it was moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act, to create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers.
Several states still have individual holidays honoring the birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln and other figures but Presidents’ Day is now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents past and present.
