Storms Moving into Area Just in Time for Rush Hour

National Weather Bureau reports thunderstorms, high winds and possible hail later tonight

Just as many of us will be heading home to join Atlanta's notorious rush hour,Β  the National Weather Service has issued a report for north Georgia that includes the metro Atlanta area that includes an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

Rain and wind from a strong cold front could slow your commute. A system is moving across the region this afternoon bringing lightening, gusty winds and the possibility of "nickel to quarter sized hail."

Expect west winds around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.Β  The storm will move through the area quickly with little rainfall predicted after 10 p.m.
