Voters Decide Tuesday on SPLOST, Redevelopment Powers for City

Tuesday is Election Day. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Peachtree Corners voters have three items on the ballot.

1. SPLOST - the three-year 1 cent sales tax extension is up for voters to approve. If passed it would provide Peachtree Corners with an estimated $19 million which the city would devote to transportation improvements such as roads, sidewalks, bike paths, intersection improvements, etc.

2. Redevelopment Powers Referendum: As explained in a report on the city's website, this is a financing tool that the city can use to create Tax Allocation Districts (TADS) which developers may use to finance the redevelopment of blighted or undeveloped areas. 3. Three city council seats, Post 2, 4 and 6 are up for re-election. Council members Jay Lowe, Jeanne Aulbach and Weare Gratwick are running unopposed.

Voters are required to present identification at their polling place prior to casting their ballot. Here is a list of IDs accepted.
