Here are a few social media resolutions everyone can add to their lists! By the way: they are simple and easy to stay on top of, so maybe you won’t really cut out cake this year but you’ll have success online!

1.     Clear out the old and bring in the new! You know that photo album on Facebook you have had since 2006? It’s time to save those pictures to your computer, and make room for the new pictures coming in this next year. Think of it as an early spring cleaning for your online persona!

2.     Keep up with the newest media outlets. To keep your content fresh and your audience captivated, continue to research and look into the new websites and smartphone applications to ensure you are in the know.

3.     Redecorate! No, I’m not talking about throw pillows. However, changing up your website designs and profile pictures could give you a little extra boost of energy and optimism. This could be as simple as changing your background on Twitter, cover photo on Facebook, theme on your blog, or getting new professional head shots! As humans we are constantly changing and adapting, so our style should constantly reflect that.

4.     Master your organization! Rumor around the mediasphere is that Google+ will be an important and effective tool in 2014. The beauty about this site is that it combines email, online content and search optimization together into one. Personally, I haven’t mastered the site quite yet, but there are many YouTube videos and articles to help you adapt to your new surroundings. Also, remember resolution number one: we are trying new things in social media! Even if you don’t decide to venture into the unknown world of Google+, go through your email inbox and delete the old messages. Decrease your online clutter!

I’m already starting to make a few new designs for my blog background and scheduling some time for new professional headshots (thank goodness my brother is a photographer).
