40 years ago, Richard Forthrast fled to a mountainous corner of British Columbia to avoid the draft. He quickly made money by smuggling loads of hight-grade marijuana across the border. With plenty of money and time, he quickly becomes addicted to playing an online fantasy game in which opposing factions battle for power and treasure in a vast cyber realm. Realizing that he can put his real money into the virtual money of the game, he sees a perfect opportunity to launder all of his drug money. However, it's not as easy as he thinks, especially when another player accidently triggers a virtual war for dominance—and Richard is caught at the center.
