St. Lucia Festival Lights celebration begins at 7:30 p.m. The church has free parking, but seating is limited.
Traditional and contemporary Swedish Christmas music will fill the candlelit celebration. It will feature the St. Lucia Choir, with children, men and women from the Swedish community. Mia Peters will conduct the performance, with Gabriel Granitz accompanying the choir on piano.
The St. Lucia tradition is celebrated in Sweden and to some extent in other Scandanavian countries. A young Lucia wears a long, white gown with a red sash and a crown of lighted candles. She is attended by a group of singing attendants in festive holiday costumes. Saffron buns and gingersnaps would be offered by Lucia, as well as coffee, to everyone she saw on the morning of Dec. 13.

A reception will follow the celebration, featuring coffee and sweets in the church's Fellowship Hall.
Admission is free, but donations are welcomed.
