Tax Examiner Wins Georgia Lottery Windfall in Scratch-Off Game

She won six figures with ticket bought in Norcross.

The tax season has been good for a Gwinnett woman who scratched off six figures in the Georgia Lottery.

Tonya Shorter, 48, a tax examiner and mother of two, won $300,000 in the Match & Win instant game.

She bought the ticket at Quick Food Mart on Dawson Boulevard in Norcross, and played it in her car.

“I almost fell out,” she said in a Georgia Lottery press release.

“I want to buy a house, pay off bills and buy a car for my daughter.”
