Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement Center Hosts an Adoption Block Party

Since July 7th the Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement Center has been running an event called the "Adoption Explosion."  The biggest thing about the month long event is that Animal Welfare has waived its adoption fees and the veterinarian fees have been cut in half.  This means that a normal adoption that usually costs $90.00 is reduced down to $30.00.  This $30.00 includes the spay/neuter of the animal, a microchip and the first round of shots, it's truly a remarkable deal!!

The end of this event is this Saturday, July 28th.  The event ends with a HUGE block party at Animal Welfare and Enforcement Center.  The party starts at 10:00am and ends at 3:00pm, with the shelter staying open until 4:00pm.  There will a lot going on this Saturday, to include a live DJ with music, large inflatable bounce house and large inflatable slide for kids, games for kids indoors, craft exhibit that caters to animals, rescue groups will be displaying their available animals and we will be having a cookout.  The cookout is a fundraiser for the Society of Human Friends.  This is the group that runs the spay/neuter clinic and the group that cut the vet fees in half.  We will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and drinks during the day.  This is also the last day of the $30.00 adoptions.

Since the "Adoption Explosion" began on July 7, 2012 there have been 304 loving adoptions. The Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement Center is extremely pleased with this and is looking forward to adopting as many pets as humanly possible!!

Please come and join the Adoption Block Party!!!!
