New Christian Pre-School Being Formed

We have the privilege in Norcross to begin a tuition-free Christian preschool which will serve young children (ages 3-5) and their families who live in areas where they will attend a Title 1 school.  Most of the families are below poverty level, and the children receive free or reduced-cost lunches.

This school will be called "Feed My Lambs."  It is part of a non-denominational network of Christian preschools in the metro Atlanta area and in other countries.  It will require the support of churches, businesses, and other organizations and individuals in and around the Norcross community.  Some of the key needs will be:

  • Appropriate location for the school
  • Furnishings for ongoing use
  • Supplies for children and workers
  • Paid workers
  • Many volunteers!
  • Financial resources
  • MUCH prayer for all!

Many of us have had the opportunity to support our public schools to a much greater extent in the last few years than we had previously.  I believe that now God is calling us to reach even younger children with a structured program that will give them a hand up in being more successful academically, spiritually and socially as they continue their school careers.  The program will also help support their parents in training their children.

On Thursday, March 1 at 10:00 AM, Elizabeth Weatherby - founder and overall director of Feed My Lambs - will speak to us about the FML program and how to start a preschool in Norcross.

We will meet in the Fellowship Hall of Norcross First United Methodist Church, 2500 Beaver Ruin Road, Norcross 30071.  This is a large red brick building located between Buford Highway and Indian Trail-Lilburn Road. (near the exit from I-85)  Enter the "Office" side of the building and turn right into the Fellowship Hall.  You will see signs.
