City of Peachtree Corners Voters: Thank you for your Patience

City of Peachtree Corners Patience

As we prepare to go to the Polls Tuesday and vote on our Mayor and City Council, I just wanted to take a moment and express appreciation to the residents that make up the new city for the patience displayed during the campaign cycle.

Many times along the way, we had as many as 3 or 4 candidates going door to door in the same subdivision, knocking on doors and ringing door bells taking time away from your busy schedule. Even in today’s instant communication environment, it was still grassroots campaigning and people to people contact that matters.

In addition, signs, signs, signs.  I think there has to be a psychological term related to sign placement and how to position it just right for the drive by view. (As a disclaimer, the term may be defined as sign-in-tology not to be confused with Scientology)

The turnout for the Candidate Forums and the Meet and Greet was overwhelming and the engagement was a precursor to the active involvement of the citizens of Peachtree Corners. This is the way government was meant to be. The transparency is critical to communicate the reasons and provide the business case reasoning as to why decisions are made.

One last note, the current issue with the City of Berkeley Lake and the City of Peachtree Corners will be resolved either legislatively or thru mediation with the City Councils and/or their Attorneys. If the Legislation does not pass, then I welcome the opportunity to roll up my sleeves and resolve this dispute. Quite frankly, I have mediated diametrically opposed parties in Civil Court mediations and more often than not we hammer out an agreement. My main concern is the communication, (or lack their of),  with the commercial and private property owners that are involved in the dispute. They should have the final decision as to their destiny and which option to choose.

Anyway, thank you for the consideration and ask for your vote to be  your council representative and will work to keep the promise made to the citizens of Peachtree Corners.
