Five Things to Know This Week

1. The long awaited Dick's Sporting Goods store on Peachtree Parkway opens this Wednesday, Sept. 28. The store is located in the former Kroger shopping center. 2. Aspiring actors - sign up for a chance to star in the upcoming holiday play, "Dad's Christmas Miracle." The in Duluth is holding auditions. The play runs from Dec. 1-18 and rehearsals begin in late September. The cast of 11 includes 2 adult males, 3 adult females, 1 male teen, 2 female teens, and 3 children of various ages.

3. Ladies, get ready to enjoy night out with some of your closest girlfriends. "" is playing at the Gwinnett Center this week. The comedy features hit songs from the '80s and '90s and focuses on a group of five girlfriends reminiscing about the past, taking stock of the present, and preparing for a wild karaoke night out. 4. Get ready to be scared out of your wits, opens Friday, Sept. 30 at the Georgia Antique & Design Center. For those brave enough to take the scary walk through the neatherworld, look out for all kinds of things large and small trying to scare you. The show features live actors and special effects. It's the most scary fun you'll ever have -- but not for the faint of heart.
