Beloved Norcross High Footballer Loses Cancer Battle, Funeral Arrangements Set

The Norcross High football team will soon say goodbye to a beloved teammate, Nicholas Kim.

Kim, 17, of Peachtree Corners, passed away Wednesday, July 10, at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta - Sottish Rite, according to a published obituary.

His family will receive friends 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. on July 11, at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home's Peachtree Chapel. A funeral mass will take place 12 p.m. on July 12, at the Korean Martyrs Catholic Church in Doraville.

On Wednesday, Kim's Norcross High football team took to social media to remember the senior, who they said lost a two-year battle with cancer.

"He fought like a champion and will always be remembered," the team said on its "Official Norcross FB" Twitter page. "Nick was unable to play the last two years but was still on the sidelines and hoped for a return some day."

Another person tweeted: "Nick meant alot to everybody & I hope we can be there to support his family & remember what he showed us about strength ."

And, yet another friend tweeted: "One thing for sure about Nick Kim is you definitely can't describe his impact, influence, and personality in this word count. Love you RIP."
