Long-Time Gwinnett Resident, Scott Ferguson Passes Away

A former Norcross High School graduate and Gwinnett County Commission board member, Mr. Ferguson died on June 24.

C. Scott Ferguson, 61, of Suwanee, GA, died June 24, 2012. 

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 28 at 2:00 PM at Duluth First United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow at . The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 27, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Mr. Ferguson was a graduate of and previously attended Georgia State University.  Before retiring, he owned and operated W.H. Ferguson & Sons in Norcross.

Mr. Ferguson was former president of the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce and former board member of the Gwinnett County Commission.  He served on the Executive Board of the Dartha B. Ferguson Foundation where all monies benefit Ferguson Elementary. 

Mr. Ferguson served in the U.S. Air Force reserves and was a founding member of and .  He was a former member of the Atlanta Athletic Club and an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.

He is survived by two sons, Chris Ferguson of Atlanta and Andy Ferguson of Athens; two daughters, Sherry L. Ferguson of Peachtree Corners and Becky Ferguson of San Diego, CA. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Dartha B. Ferguson Foundation,c/o Ferguson Elementary School, 1755 Centerview Drive, Duluth, GA 30096, in memory of Scott Ferguson.
