Son of Late Gwinnett Developer Passes Away

Visitation for Michael Scott Hudgens, son of Scott Hudgens Jr., is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home.

Michael Scott Hudgens, 64, of Duluth, a philanthropist and son of the late Gwinnett developer Scott Hudgens Jr., passed away Feb. 6.

The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home, located at 5051 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Peachtree Corners.

Mr. Hudgens attended the University of Georgia and was a retired U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed his family, being with friends and working on the family farm, where he spent most of his time. An avid NASCAR fan, he also enjoyed spending time at his home on the lake.

Mr. Hudgens was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Mark R. Hudgens; and sister, Marcia Duggan. He is survived by his mother, Jacqueline Hudgens of Duluth; brother and sister in-law, Dallas and Deborah Hudgens of Falls Church, VA; nephews and their spouses, Casey and Robin McKinney, Cole and Natalie Hudgens; great nephews, Dallas and Sam Hudgens and Rowan McKinney.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Peachtree Christian Hospice, 3430 Duluth Park Lane, Duluth, GA 30096 or Camp Twin Lakes, 600 Means St. NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.
