Community Corner

Just a reminder to be thankful today and every day!

“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” ― Mother Teresa

We've all been truly blessed and the least we can do is pass those blessings forward. I have faith that we can pull together a miracle and I honestly believe that a happy ending to this story can be the beginning of something bigger for our community.

The home of Clayton City employee, Tracy Turpin was completely destroyed by fire on Monday, November 11th. Firefighters put up a strong fight, but they were unable to save it. She lost EVERYTHING. Tracy is staying with her Nanny and looking at the tough reality of starting over. The home was not insured, which leaves her with the burden of cleaning up the remnants and trying to rebuild. We are asking for financial contributions to help her get back on her feet.

We've already passed our first $5,000 goal! This is just the start of the incredible generosity our community can show to a neighbor in her time of need! So I've raised our goal to $10,000, because I believe we can take this another step further. There’s a long way to go, so let's keep going! See if you can find a few dollars to help Tracy and together we can help her rebuild her home. She will remember this for the rest of her life and as a community, we should all feel inspired to help!

I would greatly appreciate everyone helping me spread the word.

Thank you all,
Amanda Hackett
