Pick Your Favorite Place to Work Out

In our second week of "Best of" series we want to know your favorite place to get in shape. Take a moment to vote for your favorite - voting ends 9 a.m. on Friday.

In Peachtree Corners Patch's second weekly series of surveys on the" Best of" Peachtree Corners, this week we are asking readers where in your community is the best place to work out.

Have a favorite? Vote below in our poll. Voting continues until 9 a.m. Friday. Why is this gym the best of its kind? Tell us in the comments.

Or click on the link to the local places in Patch Places and write your own review.

  • Fitness Tri

If you don't find your favorite Peachtree Corners work-out facility listed, please check the last box marked "Name your own favorite" and add it in the comments section along with why you think it should be named the the top spot.

We'll announce the winner at noon Friday. Each week's winner will receive a certificate from Patch. Ties will be broken by whichever business has the most positive comments.

Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results, reviews on Patch Places and Comments.

Editor's note: We just learned that American Body Works has recently closed. A new fitness gym, Fitness Tri, has opened just north of where the ABW was located. We've corrected our contest and added the new workout center to our poll.

I used to do American Bodyworks, but I believe (?) they are closed now. These days it is a tie between home (p90x) and "the great outdoors"; one is more convenient, the other far more beautiful. Best two gym memberships ever :).

Fowler YMCA is my favorite, great group exercise classes and gym - but for me it is so much more than just a gym, it's a community of friends!
Judy Putnam (Editor) March 5, 2012 at 01:02 pm
David: I just called the number listed and was told that the company is still there, but has changed its name recently to "Fitness Tri." However, it's still part of American Body Works according to the person who answered the phone. We'll correct our directory listing to reflect the name change.

I love the Fowler YMCA! We are sooooo incredibly fortunate to have this facility right in our back yard. A Silver LEED building (sustainable building codes), new fitness equipment, friendly environment and something for all ages. I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else.

Fowler YMCA is not only a great place to work out, on the machines or in the Senior Aerobics Class, but a great place to make new friends, and join in the many activities planned for us by a super staff.

Love working out at the Y. Need to get back into my routine. Great classes and great spirit.

I like Gold's and the trainers such as Tracy - their folks are always ready to help, explain, fix, whatever you need - very customer service oriented - and I love al of the improvements and expansion - that movie theater is the BOMB! This gym is privately owned, I believe, and you can tell with the personal touches and commitment to serving the community with updated equipment, 24 hr services during the week, and real value for the membership dollar - I am very happy they are here! Give 'em a try! ~~~ Susan Nickerson

evidently just another low-information group. what they need to be focusing on is this: Did youRead More know that in all of the shootings, that the shooters were on one or more of these drugs? Ritalin, Concerta, Adderall, Prozac? http://www.antidepressantsfacts.com/2000-05-16-School-Shootings-Psychotropic-Drugs.htm CT Massacre: Therapists laying low on antidepressants because pharma industry owns them (M. So tell me again how more gun laws would have made a difference in the tragedy in CT????

This touches one of the problems with a Fri pick up schedule. Folks who take weekend trips areRead More caught with either leaving the cans out or missing out by not putting their trash out. Since homeowners have zero choices under our government mandated trash plan to pay in advance for service without the ability to change carriers with different pick up dates, leaving the cans out is the results. IF the new city can change our pickup day to Mon or Tue this problem would be stopped or reduced
Heff Heffernan June 12, 2013 at 12:43 pm
This is one of those "government mandated" services that actually are worth while. ImagineRead More 5 different garbage collectors going around PC every week stopping at every 5th home. But perhaps the city will attempt to get earlier in the week service for us. My household has good relations with our neighbors and they are more than happy to do the chore for us, as we they.
Judy Putnam (Editor) June 12, 2013 at 02:24 pm
It's my understanding that a Monday or Tuesday pickup day is one of the stipulations in the RFP theRead More city sent out. You can review the RFP on the city's website.
