A Fourth Wells Fargo Bank Held Up at Gunpoint

Today marks the fourth time a Wells Fargo Bank in Gwinnett has been robbed. A Peachtree Corners branch was held up June 23.

Gwinnett County police said a lone gunman robbed a Wells Fargo Bank in unincorporated Lilburn Friday morning bank.

The robbery happened about 10:30 a.m., at the Wells Fargo located at 1028 Killian Hill Road, according to police. No one was injured.

Armed with a handgun, police said the suspect jumped the teller counter and took a unknown amount of money at gunpoint. He then fled the area in an awaiting vehicle, which police describe as a burgundy 2000 – 2005 Chevrolet Impala. The vehicle had Tennessee tags and body damage to the right rear fender.

Wells Fargo has offered a $5,000 reward in this case.

It is latest in recent months of local Wells Fargo robberies. There was an armed bank robbery in the on June 13; on June 23, was robbed; and another on July 11 in Stone Mountain at a .

The investigation into the Lilburn-area robbery will be led by the FBI. Gwinnett County Police Department's Robbery Unit detectives responded to the scene and will assist in the investigation.

Anyone with any information on the vehicle should call 9-1-1. Gwinnett police are also requesting that anyone with information on the robbery to please call Gwinnett police detectives at 770-513-5300.
