A wanted man has given armed robbery a new weapon category:

Pitchfork.

Norcross Police are looking for a man who used a pitchfork in an attempted robbery of a Waffle House, but the plan was foiled by his own ineptitude and an employee who reportedly injured the man with the farm implement in a parking-lot scuffle.

Police say Jeffery Willard Wooten entered the Waffle House at 5565 Buford Highway Thursday, May 1, wearing a blue ski mask and threatening employees with the tool.

“The suspect herded the employees into the stock room with the pitchfork and then attempted to open the cash register,” Police Chief Warren Summers said in a press release. When the man was unable to open the register, he picked it up and left the store. “As he was leaving the parking lot, he tripped and dropped the pitchfork.”

That’s when two employees got involved. One of the employees picked up the pitchfork and chased the suspect into the Rite-Aid next door.

When Wooten tried to get to his truck — a white Ford F-250 — he fought with the employees, and was stuck with pitchfork. Police say he has injuries to his face and back of the head.

The man drove off southbound on Buford Highway and onto Jimmy Carter Boulevard, where police attempted to stop him. But he drove off the roadway and abandoned his truck a short time later.

Wooten is described as a white man, 50 years old and 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Any information related to the incident or regarding Mr. Wooten’s location can be directed to Detective Craig Dallape at 770-448-2111.

"Redneck fools" live all over this country. In every state of the nation are plenty of lost and broken souls waiting to accost someone with a pitchfork.
