More of the strange stuff police officers around North Georgia were up against recently.

Selling art as scrap: The crime world has given us trends of stealing copper wiring from homes, catalytic converters from cars and even used cooking oil from restaurants. Add stolen bronze statues to the list. A 200-pound sculpture of a boy walking to art class was stolen from the outside of the Abernathy Arts Center in Sandy Springs. The only thing left was the boy’s shoe, which was part of the foundation. Authorities say such crimes are becoming more common, as thieves sell the bronze as scrap metal. The missing sculpture is valued at $12,500.

Who took the rabbit? A statue of a rabbit was reported stolen from the backyard of a Dacula-area residence. The rabbit was gray in color and wearing a coat.

Reason to rent videos online: A man was robbed and kidnapped after returning movies to a Redbox kiosk in Lilburn. The robber came up from behind and said,  "I need you to give me some change ... I got a knife." He used the knife to force the man to withdraw $200 from an ATM nearby.

Pot growing and parenting don’t mix: A Suwanee woman was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana after police seized 13 pot plants from the apartment in which she was living. Her 2-year-old son was also there; the boy was released to the woman’s aunt. She told police she had been trying to move because of the situation with the marijuana.

Can you ID these suspects? Gwinnett County Police investigators have unusual descriptions of a man and woman suspected of shoplifting at a Buford-area Dollar General. The man "walked with a club foot," while the woman had "bad teeth similar to a meth user," according to witness accounts.
