Police Bomb Squad Called to Wells Fargo

Unidentified package found at Peachtree Corners bank Wednesday evening.

The Gwinnett County Police Department bomb squad was called to investigate a "suspicious package" found just outside the front door of the on Peachtree Parkway Wednesday evening.

Police said the EOD Unit (Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit) found an unknown substance inside the package but that their initial investigation found "no indication of an explosive device in the package," said Cpl. Jake Smith, spokesman for the police department.

Shortly after arriving the EOD unit determined that the material was not dangerous. "The package was a duffle bag which was filled with several smaller plastic bags," said Smith. "The investigation into who left the package and why will continue."
