Gwinnett Man Killed in Hit-And-Run Accident

Gwinnett police seeking driver in Tuesday night's incident in Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett police are seeking the driver of a vehicle in connection with a hit-and-run accident that killed a Suwanee man Tuesday night in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

Thiago Campos, 25, of Suwanee died after being hit by a vehicle believed to be a late-model Dodge Ram van, police Lt. Edwin Ritter said in a media release. Campos was attempting to cross Sugarloaf Parkway outside of a crosswalk about 11:30 p.m. The van's driver was traveling westbound on Sugarloaf Parkway toward SR 316 when he struck Campos, police said.

The driver did not stop after striking Campos and left the scene. Campos died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained from the collision.

The color of the Dodge Ram van has not been determined, nor do police have a description of the driver. The van is believed to have damage to the front passenger side.
