Gwinnett Police Investigating Suspicious Deaths

Two people were found dead on a service road in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is currently investigating the deaths of two people. Their bodies were found on a service road just off of New Hope Rd in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

According to GCPD's Cpl. Jake Smith, someone called to report a suspicious vehicle at the end of the road, which was blocked by a gate.

Upon arrival, investigators found a late model, red Ford F-150 pickup truck. Inside the cab was the body of an adult white male. The body of an adult white female was found on the ground just outside the vehicle.

The Medical Examiner transported the bodies to do a thorough autopsy, however any injuries were not immediately apparent according to Smith.Β 

The Ford truck was taken toΒ Β for a complete search. "We haven't done processing yet," said Smith, "however we are not aware of any drugs or anything else in the vehicle."

According to Smith, the caller notified the property owner because people will often illegally dump garbage and yard clippings on the land.

Smith also added that the police are following up on good leads as they continue to investigate these deaths.
