Gwinnett Police Out in Force on St. Patrick's Day

Police ask everyone to drive responsibly.

St. Patrick's Day revelers be forewarned, Gwinnett police will be out in full force to ensure everyone drives safe on the holiday. Below is an announcement from the Gwinnett Police Department.

Gwinnett County Police Officers, in cooperation with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department, will be conducting a large scale traffic enforcement operation on St. Patrick’s Day.  This effort will be led by the DUI Taskforce, with assistance from several other units.  The operation will be county-wide and will place special emphasis on preventing drunk driving (through show of numbers) and apprehending impaired drivers. This will be in an effort to prevent injury and death caused by impaired driving.  GCPD urges party-goers to designate a sober driver, use a taxi, or call a friend or family member for a ride.  Have a plan before heading out for the evening.
