Police have identified the motorcyclist who was killed in a five-vehicle crash Monday on Beaver Ruin Road in unincorporated Norcross.
Motorcyclist Brandon Roy, 38, of McDonough, died on scene as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash, according to a press release from Gwinnett County Police.
The preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a red BMW was traveling west in the left turn on Beaver Ruin Rd. at the I-85 bridge. Four other drivers, one of them Roy, was stopped for the traffic light in the left turn lane.
The driver of the BMW failed to stop and crashed into the stationary vehicles, causing a chain reaction accident, says the release. Charges are pending against Kenneth Griffin, 42, of Dacula, the driver of the BMW.
Three other drivers were transported to Gwinnett Medical Center with non-life threatening emergencies. One driver was not injured.
