Two families were displaced by fires; American Red Cross called to assist.

Gwinnett Fire crews were busy Tuesday night in the Norcross area, working two fires after sunset that displaced two families.

A fire whipped by winds on the 6200 block of East Windsor Lane burned through the roof and resulted in a total loss of the home. The fire occurred around 11:30 p.m., March 25. Two parents and their three children were displaced by the fire, which was ruled an accident that started in the clothes dryer.

An adult and child were left without a place to stay after a duplex fire in the 5200 block of Wrangell Point around 8:30 p.m. March 25.

Gwinnett Fire spokesman Lt. Colin Rhoden said the fire was confined mainly to one room on the second floor. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

No injuries were reported the fires, and the American Red Cross is assisting both families.
