Police Cost in PC Is Less Than Other Municipalities Nearby

Did you know that the Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD), which provides police service to Peachtree Corners, currently has 758 sworn officers and 307 civilian support personnel?

Along with a Special Operation Section that includes an Aviation Unit (two helicopters); K-9 Unit (11 canines); Motorcycle Unit (9 officers); Accident Investigation Unit (10 officers); and a DUI Squad (11 officers), GCPD has a Criminal Investigation Division staffed with 144 sworn investigators and 35 civilian support personnel.

The Criminal Investigation Division handles Homicides, Assaults, Robbery, Auto Theft, Special Victims, Burglary, Financial and Electronic Crimes, Gang crimes, Crime Scene Investigations, Highway Interdiction, Vice and Alcohol, Narcotics and Crime Analysis & Intelligence.

The Gwinnett police department also has the only Hazardous Devices Unit (Bomb Squad) in the county, a SWAT Team of 50-60 officers and a state-of-the-art accredited Police Academy and Training Center. GCPD has a surge capability unmatched by any police agency in the area with the ability to place a large number of police officers on the scene of an incident quickly.
