A man was shot in the leg around midnight Friday, June 20, near a Gwinnett County McDonald’s.

Gwinnett Police said the man, from Norcross, was shot around 12:20 a.m. in the 1600 block of Indian Trail Road, where the McDonald’s is located next to a QuikTrip gas station.

Police released surveillance camera images from the QuikTrip (attached to this file) showing “people of interest” in the case. Investigators want to speak to those people. They are not suspects at this time.

Gwinnett Police Cpl. Ed Ritter said the wounded man was standing in the McDonald’s parking lot with friends when they heard gunshots at the QuikTrip. The victim was struck in a leg just below the knee.

Witnesses said four black males were in a white Toyota Avalon or Corolla that was in the QuikTrip parking lot, then driven around the McDonald’s building and back to the QT.

One of the passengers began shooting from an open window.

“Witnesses stated that it didn’t appear that the passenger was shooting at any intended target,” Ritter said in a statement.

The victim and his friends they had never seen the car before and were not having a confrontation with anyone.

Police are asking anyone with information on the subjects in pictures contact investigators at 770-513-5300.
