Two men have been arrested and accused of robbing two Gwinnett County Waffle Houses this week.
Norcross Police spokesman Lt. Bill Grogan said Otis Lee Barnes, 21, and Robbin J. Haynes, 19, were in the Gwinnett County Jail in connection with armed robberies of the restaurants at 5565 Buford Highway and Club Drive/Pleasant Hill Road on March 30 and 31.
According to Gwinnett County jail records, Barnes is listed as a Lawrenceville resident, Haynes is from Roswell. Both are being held without bond.
Grogan said the duo entered the Waffle House on Buford Highway around 10:45 p.m. on March 30, robbed the employees and used bolt cutters to get to a safe.
“One man had a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from employees,” Grogan said in an email. “The second man used bolt cutters to break into the manager’s office and steal cash from the safe.”
Around $1,200 in cash was taken.
Around 7 a.m. March 31, they allegedly robbed the other Waffle House location in a similar fashion. Their vehicle was caught on surveillance camera, and Gwinnett Police found a car matching the description Tuesday morning, April 1.
Grogan said bolt cutter used in the Norcross robbery was found in the car.
Grogan said both men admitted involvement in the crimes.
