Report: Spaghetti Junction Jumper Was Distraught Over Partner's Death

The incident happened during the Monday June 2 morning commute.

The man who committed suicide by jumping off a Spaghetti Junction overpass Monday was distraught over the death of his partner.

The sister of Mark Rhea Castleberry told the AJC he jumped to his death shortly after his partner of 30 years, Gregory Woodlief, died following a long illness. Castleberry, 55, left a note in his car directing police to the home where he and Woodlief lived in Chamblee.

The incident occurred during the Monday morning rush-hour at the busy I-285/I-85 interchange near the DeKalb-Gwinnett line.
