Strike! Man Uses Car to Break Up Mugging of Brother Near Brunswick Lanes

A look inside Gwinnett Police incident reports from the Peachtree Corners area.

A man leaving work late one night last week was mugged near the Brunswick’s Lanes in Peachtree Corners, but the robber left with nothing after the victim’s brother intervened — with his vehicle.

Gwinnett Police investigated the report of a robbery by sudden snatching on April 17 around 2 a.m. at 6345 Spalding Drive, where the victim said a man with dreadlocks approached him and asked, “Do you have any gas?”

“No,” the victim said, and was immediately punched in the face by the suspect, who then chased the man and tried to steal the wallet from his back pocket.

The victim’s brother was waiting in his car to pick up the victim from work, and witnessed the attack.

According to the incident report, the brother drove the car toward the chase and struck the suspect, who rolled off the front of the car and ran toward a silver vehicle parked at the Gold’s Gym nearby. He got in and sped off.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’11 to 6’, weighing 120 to 160 pounds, and 18 to 25 years old. He was wearing a gray hooded sweat jacket, green basketball shorts and tennis shoes.

The man attacked declined medical treatment.

Brunswick Lanes was asked to review security video for any suspicious activity.
