Suspect Pulls Handgun and Escapes with Woman's Purse

Armed robbery in apartment complex parking lot involves handgun and $15 cash.

A woman visiting the area from Sandy Springs reported being robbed at gunpoint near the 300 block of Ashley Lakes Drive on Dec. 22.

The victim told police she had just descended the stairs of an apartment complex and was walking towards the parking lot when she was approached by a man wearing dark clothing.

The victim stated in a Gwinnett County police report that the man placed a handgun to her head while ordering her to hand over her purse. The victim gave her purse to the suspect, who ran toward the back of the complex.

The police report indicated that the purse contained $15 in cash, a driver's license and credit cards.

The suspect was described as a black male approximately 25 to 28 years old with black short hair, a slender build and a height of nearly 6'0" tall. The suspect was wearing dark clothing with a denim jacket and blue jeans.

Police searched the area, however no further evidence was found. The case is listed as active.
