Two Suspects Charged with Robbery and Kidnapping

Initial court appearances held today

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have charged two suspects with the robbery and kidnapping of a pizza delivery man.

Sherwin Vincent Moore, 18, of 4725 Star Rite Lane, of Parkton and Tavarius Devontae McLean, 20,  of 7323 Acropolis Drive, of Parkton are each charged with one count of armed robbery and 2nd degree kidnapping according to the Cumberland County public information officer.

Moore remains in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.  McLean posted bond and was released from jail.

On Friday, January 4, 2013 at around 10:00 p.m. the suspects were waiting for a pizza delivery man along the 4700 block of Desert Ridge Road in Parkton.  Moore allegedly forced the victim to the ground at gunpoint and demanded cash, as well as pizzas.  The victim says Moore threatened to kill him if he reported the crime to law enforcement.

Both Moore and McLean are expected to make first court appearances today in the Detention Center Courtroom at 2:30 p.m.

brings back memories of the killing of the pizza man a few years back, the pizza man was killed by some piece of trash that said he would hold the gun IF he got a whole pizza for himself. It happened in Southgate, I think the last name was bethune. He got something like 55 yrs without chance of parole. The pizza man was recently disharged from the military and was earning money to return home with his new bride. This case shows the mental and intelligence level of SOME of the youth around. shame on them

Thanks for the input, Jim. I'll have to look up the story. Crazy times. People in desperation.
