Father of Slain Norcross Teen Arrested

Nicholas Jackson Sr., the father of the Norcross teen who was fatally shot in February, was taken into custody for a DEA investigation.

Nicholas Jackson Sr., the father of the freshman who was , was arrested Wednesday on a warrant relating to a federal DEA investigation. 

The 38-year-old Norcross resident, along with eight other suspects, have been charged with possession of drugs with the intent to distribute, according to an indictment filed July 25 with the U.S. District Court obtained by Norcross Patch.

The suspects were allegedly part of a conspiracy to distribute at least five kilograms of cocaine and 50 kilograms of marijuana. The charges state that the incidents go back to January 2011.

Jackson was taken into custody Wednesday at the Norcross Police Department, according to a press release from police spokesman Capt. Brian Harr. Norcross police were assisting agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration with the arrest.

A detention hearing for all suspects have been set for Aug. 6 at 10 a.m. before U.S. Magistrate Judge Alan Baverman in the Richard Russell Federal Building, according to Charysse L. Alexander of the U.S. Attorney's Office.

On the evening of Feb. 2, Nick Jackson II was allegedly shot in his home on the 300 block of Autry Street in the city of Norcross. Norcross police arrested six suspects who were found in a nearby van that same evening in regards to the incident.
