Updated: Warrant Issued for RaceTrac Robbery Suspect

The RaceTrac gas station on Peachtree Industrial was robbed by knife on March 23. Norcross Police have now identified a suspect.

A man entered the RaceTrac at 5700 Peachtree Industrial Blvd on Wed., March 23 at about 5 a.m. with a knife, holding up the person working there and making away with about $300.  Police have now identified a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest. 

On the gas station video footage, the robber appears to be a bald, black male. At the time of the robbery he was wearing cargo shorts and a mustard-colored shirt with black sneakers.

A suspect has now been identified as 39-year-old Dennis Vaughn, according to the Norcross Police. Vaughn's state corrections records show that he has been in and out of prison since 1998, when he was first incarcerated for entering a vehicle and sentenced to five years. 

Vaughn was given a 15-year sentence for another armed robbery that occured in DeKalb county on Oct. 8, 2000. It appears that he was released from Phillips State Prison on Oct. 7, 2010.
