2012 Budget Review Meetings for Gwinnett County Available for Online Viewing

The Board of Commissioners will be adopting an annual budget in January 2013.

County departments and agencies presented their business plans, which included the need for financial resources, to the budget review team during the first two weeks of September. Those videotaped presentations are now available for public viewing on the Budget Review Meetings webpage.

Six residents from the county have joined Gwinnett Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash in serving on the review team this year. Various county staff members will also support Nash and the team as they set priorities and make recommendations for the 2013 budget. The members of the team including Nash are as follows: Houston Bass (BB&T), Mark Brock (Gwinnett County Schools), David Crews (View Point Health), Lois Love (retired, Gwinnett County), Marian Lucia, (formerly Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta), and Herman Pennamon (Georgia Power).

The proposed 2013 budget will be available to the public and the commissioners on or around Nov. 6, 2013 and a public hearing on the budget will be scheduled in December. According to Gwinnett County, the Board of Commissioners must adopt an annual budget during the first meeting of the new year to be held in January.
