Action items
Voting machines: Approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement between the city and Gwinnett County to provide voting machines for city elections.

Single-family residence: Approval of a Certificate for Development within the Chattahoochee River Corridor, to allow the demolition and rebuilding of a residence in the Riverview Estates subdivision. The ARC has reviewed and approved the plan.

Resolutions

Two resolutions would authorize GDOT GATEway Grant applications — for landscaping around the sign at the Peachtree Industrial/141 split, and for the Gwinnett Village CID application to landscape along Buford Highway.

Work session

In her update, Aulbach wrote the working session that follows the council meeting will include the following:

  • We will have a presentation on best practices relating to communications. We all agree that this needs to be elevated to a priority in the city.
  • There will be an update on the solid waste service implementation.
  • There will be a presentation on achieving a “City of Ethics” certification. This certification is issued by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA). You can read more about this here. The recommended resolution is included in the packet.
  • There will be a presentation and review of how to become an ARC Certified Green Community. This is a voluntary program. You can read more about this here.
  • Review of DRAFT Town Center Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) Request for Proposals document. We received the grant to perform a study. This RFP will be to find an organization to perform the study. You can read more about the ARC LCI grants program here. The RFP is included in the packet.
  • There will be an update on SPLOST.
  • Last, there will be a presentation on GMA Agreement with the City of Peachtree Corners for GMA to collect taxes from Insurance Companies.
