Christie Says He Won't Seek Presidency

An announcement is expected Tuesday afternoon from the New Jersey's governor on his decision.

According to a report just released on WSBTV.com sources close to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie say he will not join the Republican race to challenge President Barak Obama in 2012. His announcement is expected to come later today.

With Christie no longer in consideration as the Republican candidate to challenge President Barack Obama in 2012 it leaves the Republican race focused on the former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

A recent poll shows Perry's support has been dropping while businessman Herman Cain's support is rising.

The report said "The Washington Post-ABC survey shows former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney regaining the lead, though his support remains in the same place it's been for months β€” the mid-20s." And the push by the GOP for new candidates "reflects continued discomfort with Romney.
