I can't wait to see their next years budget.....City of Atlanta sized numbers maybe! I can't believe they presented it with straight faces after all the talks they all gave when running for office. Remember this whenever any of this crew of thiefs come up for election. If nobody votes for them maybe they'll get the message.

Steve - the problem is that no one has run against them!

Even if they run unopposed, when they get no votes but their own they WILL get the message. This massive budget is completely out of reality.

The budget is out of reality, but only as it refers to the original charter and function of this new “city-lite”. Regardless of that, the fact is that our city is generating an enormous amount of revenue due to its franchise tax, licenses and SPLOST funds. I'm not sure if this was forecasted or underestimated during the original independent study, but it is a massive windfall which is OK with me. What's perturbing to me, is the forecasted use of these funds. At first glance, it seems that the windfall is being used to grant extremely generous salary increases, compensation packages and to spend it frivolously just because is there. Please pay special attention to the itemized forecasted expenses in the "General Funds Expenditures Detail" portion of the budget and let me know how you feel about the increases between 2013 & 2015. Not sure if purposely omitted, but this budget report is missing actual number for prior years. We should be able to see the actual expenditure for 2013 & 2014. Also, with a budget of this magnitude. I would greatly encourage the city to engage an outside accounting firm to perform yearly financial audits. After all, we are talking about a $12.7MM Budget. ;-)

I tried to tell people this would happen, back when "citylite" just sounded like the mad fantasy of power hungry homeowners associations. The gullible voters have opened Pandora's box and are now wishing they could close it. Voters who are too damned lazy to do their homework, and who believe every lie a politician can tell, are the ptimary reason this Country is in the sad shaoe it's in. If you votrd for the 0-bama, or you voted for citylite, please please please stay away from the polls for the rest of your misguided life.
