City Council to Vote on New Budget Thursday Night

Also among the agenda items in Thursday night's Special Called Meeting, Peachtree Corners city leaders will hear presentations on intergovernmental agreements with Gwinnett County.

Another packed agenda awaits the Peachtree Corners City Council in the Special Called Meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the YMCA.

City leaders are expected to vote on the FY 2013 budget which has drawn considerable criticism from residents who feel the $2.7 million is excessive and includes a number of expenditures unnecessary to the operation of the new city.

Also on the agenda is the approval of the lease for the new City Hall space located at 147 Technology Park. The city has budgeted $125,000 for the fiscal year that ends June 30, 2013. The amount includes base rent, common area maintenance and utilities.

In new business the Council will consider approving a resolution to adopt a fee schedule for the Planning and Zoning Department.

  • Adoption process of Gwinnett County Code of Ordinances
  • Report on the Sexually Oriented Business Ordiance

Public comments will be permitted during Thursday night's meeting but not a Public Hearing period as was part of the first two meetings on the budget. During the public comment period, residents are free to make comments on any subject, including the budget.
